And then she fairly burst upon the national scene (sigh!)

Confession time.
Like much of America, Mose has been smitten with the charms of a woman who recently has come upon the national stage.
No, no. Not Sarah Palin.
Kitty Burns Florey.
She wrote last week for “The Good Word: Language and How We Use It” for Slate, part of the elite liberal media.
But Kitty does have something in common with Palin.
Last week, she wrote about the Republican candidate for vice president.
The entry is titled “Diagramming Sarah: Can Palin’s Sentences Stand Up to a Grammarian?”
You can check it out at http://www.slate.com/id/2201158/
Turns out, Kitty wrote a book on the history of diagramming sentences. Who knew?
Whenever he recruits young talent at job fairs, Mose asks a series of “throw ‘em off balance” questions.
Among them is, “Have you ever diagrammed a sentence?”
That practice, along with studying a foreign language, is a great way to understand how English works.
Mose did it in seventh grade under Miss Vanbebber, and again in freshman English under Mr. Wallace.
And it stuck.
So check out Kitty’s examination of Palin English.
It’s good fun.
And not nearly so unfair as you might suspect.
Let’s just say it doesn’t compare to palling around with terrorists.
